Athens City Pass
The Turbopass City Pass is the most comprehensive of the three big Athens passes: it bundles the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, a 48-hour hop-on/hop-off bus tour and around a dozen further museums into one digital pass. With an independent GetYourGuide rating of 4.0 out of 5 from 885 bookings, it is also the most widely tested.

📶 A note on the eSIM included with Mega Pass & Turbopass City Pass
The Mega Pass includes a 3 GB eSIM and the Turbopass City Pass comes with a 1 GB Kolet eSIM. For travellers from outside the EU that’s genuinely useful. As an EU citizen you already roam in Greece at your home rates (EU roaming) — so the eSIM is a benefit you pay for but barely need. Factor that out when comparing prices.
Does the pass pay off?
On price alone an Athens pass is not worth it for everyone: if you only want the Acropolis, a single ticket is cheaper. The real gain is time — skip-the-line entry, an audio guide instead of research, and hop-on/hop-off instead of hunting for tickets. If you visit several sights and use the bus over 2–3 days, the pass usually saves money too.
Buying & redeeming
After booking you get your digital City Pass separately from Turbopass (not via the reseller voucher). Your Acropolis slot is assigned to you — usually between 16:00 and 19:00 on day one; check the exact time on the pass. Free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
What speaks against this pass
In GetYourGuide reviews travellers note that the bus ticket isn’t always digital and QR codes sometimes have to be swapped for paper tickets. The optional island cruise can be very crowded in high season. If you only want to see the Acropolis, a single ticket is cheaper.
Who is this pass for?
- You stay 2–5 days and want to see many sights
- You want to make heavy use of the hop-on/hop-off bus
- The smaller museums (Illusions, Kotsanas etc.) sound appealing
- You prefer one bundled booking instead of many singles
Real reviews
Great experience: Acropolis with the museum, several smaller museums, the city on foot and of course the hop-on/hop-off buses. The bus rides were beautiful.
Lovely trip. It would be better if the bus ticket were stored digitally.
Using the bus made everything very flexible.
The boat was very crowded, hard to find a seat. But the prices were okay.
